KidsBank Flintshire Hub Celebrates First Birthday

The Mold hub has gifted over 25,000 donated items to local families, and is now looking for more volunteers and drivers as it prepares to extend its opening hours.

KidsBank Flintshire has marked its first anniversary, having helped more than 580 children and over 300 families across the county in its first year.

The Mold hub has provided more than 25,000 donated items. As part of the wider KidsBank network, it re-gifts essentials such as clothing, baby equipment, toiletries, nappies and books to families who need them.

The charity has now delivered more than 500,000 new and pre-loved items since it launched, supporting families facing challenges including homelessness, financial hardship and domestic abuse.

“It is their kindness and generosity that has made the difference”

KidsBank CEO Dee Denton thanked everyone who made the first year possible.

“We want to say a huge thank you to all the donors, volunteers, supporters and partners who have helped to make our first year possible,” she said. “It is their kindness and generosity that has helped us make a real difference to children and families across Flintshire.”

She also paid tribute to the Flintshire Hub Manager: “A special thank you goes to our Hub Manager, who leads our team at the Flintshire hub and has shown incredible dedication to the families we support.”

Longer opening hours planned

The hub currently opens from 10am to 3pm, Tuesday to Thursday. In the new year it plans to open Tuesday to Friday so it can reach even more families.

To make that possible, KidsBank is looking for extra volunteers and drivers.

“As we look to reach even more families and extend our opening hours, we are now looking for additional volunteers and drivers to join our team,” the CEO said. “If you would like to get involved, please head to our website to find out more about volunteering, donating or other ways to support.”
